HOW TO MAKE HANDVO [LENTIL CAKE]

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 Cup rice 
  • ½ cup chana dal 
  • ¼ cup toor dal 
  • 2 tbsp urad dal 
  • ½ cup yogurt [curd] 
  • 1 cup lauki [bottle guard] 
  • ½ cup grated cabbage 
  • ¼ cup grated carrot 
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped coriander 
  • ½ tsp ginger paste 
  • 1 finely chopped green chilli 
  • ½ tsp sugar 
  • ¼ Kashmiri red chilli powder 
  • ¼ tsp haldi powder 
  • 2 tsp oil 
  • ¾ tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp Eno (fruit salt) 

FOR WAKING BEFORE BAKING 

  • 3 tsp oil 
  • 3/4 tsp mustard 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin 
  • 1 tsp sesame 
  • Few curry leaves 
  • Pinch of Hing 

HOW TO MAKE HANDVO 

Firstly, take soaked rice, chana dal, toor dal and blend it in a smooth but coarse paste by adding curd in it. Now add up all the ingredients and mix well. Make sure that batter is slightly thick. Add Eno mix well and then wak it first in a pan with all the waking ingredients and then bake the handvo until it bakes completely. And enjoy chutney.
